Workshop Details

Join us for a dynamic session on empowering educators to adeptly navigate the 2023 Virginia SOL revisions across grade bands. Gain valuable insight as we engage in discussions with colleagues to unwrap the changes. Leave with a renewed sense of confidence in the revisions and adaptable approaches to implement content in your classroom!

Recertification Certificates (5 points) will be given at the end of the PD workshop series after completion of an electronic exit survey.

Presenters

Dr. Deb Crawford

Dr. Deb Crawford is currently the Supervisor of Mathematics and World Language in Frederick County Public Schools and serves as Data Science Lead of the Virginia team as well as an instructor in the Mathematics Educational Leadership concentration of the Graduate School of Education at George Mason University. Deb has proudly served as a teacher, math department chair, and/or math coach in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Skip Tyler

Skip Tyler most recently retired after 31 years in public education as the High School Mathematics Educational Specialist for Henrico County Public Schools in VA. His responsibilities included supporting mathematics instruction and providing professional development and coaching for administrators and teachers in his district. Impacting over 25,000 students, Skip worked to ensure that best practices are being utilized, monitored, and reinforced in all classrooms.

Workshop Series Cost

The workshop series (equivalent to a full day) is FREE for each participant who is a member of a school division that is a member of VaSCL. You can check here for member divisions.

The registration fee for participants from Non-Member school divisions is $50.

The registration deadline is October 5, 2023.

If you would like to pay now by credit card or through a PayPal/credit account, you will be given an opportunity to do so below.

If payment is not made by credit card/PayPal account at registration, the person whom you identified as the Billing Contact will be sent an invoice for payment of your registration fee.

 

Refund Policy

VaSCL has a no refund policy for workshop registrations.

We are happy to allow a substitute to attend in your place. Allison will need to know the person’s name and email address for confirmation.
