VaSCL Executive Board and Officers
May 1, 2023 - July 1, 2024
The Executive Board is responsible for the overall governance of the organization. The Executive Board is composed of both superintendents (the four VaSCL Officers and two-at large superintendents) and five representatives of the VaSCL Steering Committee, as approved during the annual meeting of superintendents.
The Executive Board meets quarterly, under the direction of the VaSCL Officers and in coordination with the VaSCL Executive Director. The meeting agendas serve to address issues of importance to members and provide strategic direction for the organization. Meetings may also feature presentations by leaders in the field on the latest educational research and collaborative projects with local school divisions.

Dr. Andrea Whitmarsh
Dr. Andrea Whitmarsh, Virginia School Consortium for Learning Chair, is the proud superintendent of Greene County Public Schools. She has served in a multitude of roles in her 20 years in Greene, including tenures as an elementary school principal, director of student accountability and achievement, assistant superintendent, and, most recently, superintendent since 2013.
Several programs and projects have been implemented under her leadership, including a significant facility improvement project and a five-year strategic plan focused on project-based learning and technology. The division has also expanded Career and Technical Education opportunities, created a leading Early College program, enhanced professional development opportunities for staff, and adopted an overall philosophy that focuses on students’ post-secondary success.
As a lifelong educator, Dr. Whitmarsh has gained valuable insight on the importance of deeper learning in K-12 education and remains committed to that philosophy in all Greene County Public Schools.
